Co-Founder & CTO (Product-Focused) – Neptune Location: Berlin – Primarily On-Site (Occasional Remote Possible) Commitment: Full-time Compensation: Co-founder equity + negotiable salary post-funding About Neptune Neptune is an AI- and VR-powered music education platform that provides real-time feedback on instrument playing, posture, and technique—making music learning more fun, accessible, and effective for everyone. Backed by the Fraunhofer Institute and embedded in a strong research and innovation ecosystem, we’re combining cutting-edge technology with deep educational insight to redefine how people learn music. Our intelligent system detects posture and performance mistakes, guiding users toward better habits and faster progress. We’re building the future of music education—and we’re looking for a Co-Founder & CTO to lead our product and tech efforts, primarily from our Berlin office. Your Role As Co-Founder & CTO, you will take strategic and operational ownership of all things product and technology. While your main focus will be product management, your strong software background will be essential in architecting and executing our core platform. You will: • Define and lead the product strategy, roadmap, and execution • Oversee and manage the internal tech and product teams • Collaborate with outsourced development partners and integrate their work • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of the product • Work closely with the founding team to translate vision into a world-class product • Foster a culture of technical excellence and product impact What We’re Looking For • Deep hands-on experience with Python — you’ve built real systems, not just prototypes • Solid background in AI/ML, particularly in computer vision, pose estimation, or motion detection • Ability to design, develop, and optimize real-time detection systems (e.g., using OpenCV, MediaPipe, PyTorch, TensorFlow) • Proven track record managing full product lifecycles — especially in interactive apps or digital platforms • Comfortable leading and scaling a tech team (internal and external devs) • Based in Berlin and available to work primarily on-site, with some flexibility • Self-starter, proactive, with a founder’s mindset • Passion for music, learning, or creative tools is a big plus Bonus Points • Experience building apps/games in Unity (C#, asset pipeline, performance optimization) • You’ve worked on VR/AR or interactive audio tools • You’ve led development of an edtech, healthtech, or real-time feedback product • Experience integrating motion data with user feedback systems Why Join Neptune? • Become a co-founder of a high-impact, innovation-driven company • Own the product and tech direction from the ground up • Collaborate with leading researchers and innovators from Fraunhofer and beyond • Build a meaningful platform that makes music learning more human, accessible, and inspiring
